By The Time I Came Back

No, I haven't forgotten about you, baby
I could never hold on without you
And lately I've begun to feel
That maybe I'll go crazy

It happened to all her friends, you know
Oh, no, it could never happen to me
And you never looked for me, either

You were already gone by the time I came back
The sound never rang as soon as you hit the floor
I don't want to dream about it anymore

Honey, I'm sad to say our paths never crossed
And I wish I could have saved you the trouble
Of sending yourself away
In finding what you had lost

But you were already gone by the time I came back
The winds never changed as you stopped breathing
By the time I found you, you were already bleeding

Hoping to find a way to go back
All the way back
In the mirror by the ocean
Watch for me, just wait and see
I'll come back and save you
Send you to the sea
This is a poem I recently wrote. I'd like to make it a song, but I'm having a hard time with it. It could use editing, but right now I'm too lazy. It's not directly inspired by anything. I just thought it was a cool idea that I got while I was eating Cancun.
